As a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in assisting the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy. Your responsibilities will include using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. If you are PTCB certified, you will also have the opportunity to assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the operation of pharmacy systems and cash registers. You will also report any prescription errors immediately and adhere to company policies regarding Good Faith Dispensing. Your duties will include handling cash transactions, processing manual claims for third-party prescription services, and assisting with inventory management activities. You may also assist in administering clinical services and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community. Your role will also involve ongoing training and personal development. You will be required to earn and maintain PTCB certification and attend training sessions to acquire continuing education credits.
