Certified Pharmacy Technician

About the position

The position involves assisting the pharmacist in various pharmacy operations under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The role focuses on customer service, operational support, and maintaining pharmacy systems, while also providing training and guidance to pharmacy technicians when certified. The goal is to deliver a positive customer experience and support the pharmacy's workflow and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Pharmacy Department.
• Assist in administering clinical services, including collecting and labeling blood/urine samples.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

• PTCB certification preferred for coaching pharmacy technicians.
• Experience in customer service within a pharmacy setting.
