About the position

The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role involves processing prescriptions, engaging with customers to enhance their experience, and supporting pharmacy operations, including inventory management and clerical duties. The technician is also responsible for maintaining a positive customer experience and developing relationships with valuable customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the operation of pharmacy systems and cash registers if PTCB certified.
• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Assist in scheduling and maintaining workflow under the supervision of the pharmacist.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the Pharmacy Department.

Requirements

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Nice-to-haves

• PTCB certification or willingness to earn certification as a condition of promotion to senior technician.
• Experience in customer service within a pharmacy setting.
