About the position

The Certified Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in supporting pharmacists by managing medication orders, maintaining records, and assisting with inventory control in a mental health and addiction services environment. This position is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of medications to patients under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.

Responsibilities

• Enter medication orders and refill requests into the database for pharmacist review.
• Operate computer and automated drug distribution systems.
• Count and pour drugs into containers, prepare and label medications, and assist with packaging operations.
• Maintain related records and files, including patient medication profiles and inventory records.
• Assist in filling and checking the accuracy of prescription orders under pharmacist supervision.
• Perform non-sterile drug compounding in compliance with required training and regulations.

Requirements

• Registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Attention to detail and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
• Technical skills in data entry, medication management, and understanding of medical terminology.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a pharmacy setting or healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of Ohio Administrative Code related to pharmacy operations.
