About the position

The Certified Pharmacy Technician at ChenMed plays a crucial role in assisting with pharmacy operations in compliance with state and federal regulations. This position involves using pharmacy systems to manage patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and ensuring a high level of quality healthcare while interacting with patients and healthcare providers. The technician will also support and coach other pharmacy technicians, maintain inventory, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Coach pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking stock levels and placing orders.
  • Ensure compliance with the Pharmacy Technician Code of Conduct.
  • Engage with patients and healthcare providers, answering questions and resolving issues.
  • Fill prescriptions accurately and check for possible interactions.
  • Report prescription errors to the Pharmacist immediately.
  • Process claims for third-party reimbursement efficiently.
  • Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with pharmacy/medical data entry.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products including Outlook.
  • Fluency in English.
