About the position

The Certified Public Accountant (CPA) position at Clēnera offers an opportunity to work in the innovative and growing sustainable energy industry without the constraints of public accounting firm politics. This full-time role focuses on advanced accounting functions, including financial statement analysis, month-end and year-end closings, tax compliance, and internal auditing. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy research and critical thinking, and be comfortable with continual change. The position allows for hybrid work, with remote options available, and requires occasional travel to the Boise office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review a variety of financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and GAAP.
  • Review and prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and other month-end close activities.
  • Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports, including consolidated financial statements and business activity reports.
  • Inspect complex contracts for accounting requirements and ensure compliance with applicable contracts.
  • Manage solar projects, holding companies, and consolidations, including preparing financial statements and revenue recognition.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with federal, state, and local tax compliance and quarterly HLBV entries.
  • Serve as the primary contact during annual audits and collaborate cross-functionally with other departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience; CPA required.
  • Minimum of 2 years public accounting experience.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and time management.

Nice-to-haves

  • SOX compliance implementation experience (2 years preferred).
