About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our small and dynamic team. This part-time role involves providing expert financial guidance to small business clients, reviewing and signing tax returns, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The CPA will also mentor junior staff and contribute to the organization's growth.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Provide insights through financial report interpretation to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage tax preparation and filing processes while ensuring adherence to relevant regulations, reviewing and signing returns.
  • Conduct financial forecasting and budgeting to assist in long-term tax planning.
  • Maintain accurate journal entries and general ledger accounts.
  • Utilize accounting software such as Quickbooks Online for efficient financial management.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and the IRS regarding tax matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is required.
  • Proven experience in small business and individual tax preparation, budgeting and tax strategy, financial reporting, and interpretation.
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent forecasting skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Quickbooks Online, is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
  • Effective and professional communication skills with the team and with clients.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
