About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our team part-time. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with applicable laws, while also providing valuable insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will work in the office one time per week starting in November, managing various accounting tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Write comprehensive financial reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Manage financial accounting processes, including accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Utilize financial software to maintain accurate records and streamline accounting operations.
  • Implement accrual accounting methods to ensure timely revenue recognition.
  • Provide guidance on wills, trusts, estate law, and securities law as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
  • Proven experience in financial statement preparation and financial report writing.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial software applications.
  • Experience with accounts receivable processes and payroll management.
  • Familiarity with accrual accounting methods is preferred.
  • Knowledge of wills, trusts, estate law, and securities law is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves
