We are currently seeking an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who will be responsible for the preparation of income tax and financial statements for clients across various industries. This role requires close collaboration with clients and firm personnel on business and bookkeeping matters. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, collaborative, and attentive to detail, with a strong drive to manage and complete multiple projects effectively and efficiently. In this position, you will prepare federal and state business and personal income tax returns, assist with the calculation of federal tax adjustments, and support year-end tax planning, estimated and extension payments, and the K-1 process. You will also assist with the monthly annual report process and conduct tax research as needed. Additionally, you will provide compilation and preparation services while developing trusting work relationships with assigned clients and collaborating closely with other team members throughout the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of federal and state business and personal income tax returns.
  • Assist with the calculation of federal tax adjustments.
  • Assist with year-end tax planning, estimated and extension payments, and K-1 process.
  • Assist with the monthly annual report process.
  • Assist with tax research as needed.
  • Provide compilation and preparation services.
  • Develop trusting work relationships and interaction with assigned clients.
  • Work closely with other members throughout the firm.

Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. in Accounting degree.
  • CPA License required.
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting, preferably with a focus on tax matters.
  • Experience with Lacerte tax software is a plus.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, including QuickBooks Online.
  • Experience with payroll processing and tax filing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently toward accomplishing goals.
  • Strong time management skills to function within a deadline-driven environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lacerte tax software.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online.
