About the position

Tenacious Solutions, LLC is seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to work in a hybrid capacity from our Arlington, VA headquarters. This part-time position is integral to our financial operations and will involve a variety of responsibilities centered around financial reporting, government contract accounting, and compliance. The CPA will be expected to prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, while conducting variance analysis to provide insights into financial performance. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations is a critical aspect of this role. In addition to financial reporting, the CPA will apply their knowledge of DCAA regulations to manage government contracts effectively. This includes overseeing cost accounting, indirect rate calculations, and contract billing. The CPA will also assist in preparing incurred cost submissions (ICS) and forward pricing rate proposals (FPRP), ensuring that all financial practices align with government requirements. The role will also involve utilizing Unanet, JAMIS, or a similar ERP system for project accounting, timekeeping, and expense management. The CPA will be responsible for setting up new projects, monitoring budgets, and tracking project costs, as well as training staff on the use of Unanet and troubleshooting any system issues that may arise. Furthermore, the CPA will coordinate and participate in internal and external audits, collaborating with auditors during DCAA audits to ensure compliance with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and CAS (Cost Accounting Standards). The CPA will also be tasked with identifying process inefficiencies and recommending improvements to streamline financial processes related to Unanet data entry, reporting, and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA certification (preferred).
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in both public and private accounting.
  • Proficiency in using Unanet, JAMIS (or a similar ERP system).
  • Strong understanding of DCAA regulations and FAR/CAS compliance.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
