About the position

Tenacious Solutions, LLC is seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to work hybrid from our Arlington, VA headquarters. The role is part-time and involves a variety of responsibilities centered around financial reporting, government contract accounting, financial system management, audits, and compliance. The CPA will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. This includes conducting variance analysis and providing insights into financial performance while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. In the realm of government contract accounting, the CPA will apply their knowledge of DCAA regulations to manage government contracts effectively. This includes overseeing cost accounting, indirect rate calculations, and contract billing. The CPA will also assist in preparing incurred cost submissions (ICS) and forward pricing rate proposals (FPRP), ensuring that all financial activities align with regulatory requirements. The role also requires proficiency in financial system management, specifically utilizing Unanet, JAMIS, or a similar ERP system for project accounting, timekeeping, and expense management. The CPA will set up new projects, monitor budgets, and track project costs, as well as train staff on the usage of JAMIS and troubleshoot any system issues that may arise. Additionally, the CPA will coordinate and participate in internal and external audits, collaborating with auditors during DCAA audits to ensure compliance with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and CAS (Cost Accounting Standards). The CPA will also be tasked with identifying process inefficiencies and recommending improvements to streamline financial processes related to Unanet data entry, reporting, and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in both public and private accounting.
  • Proficiency in using Unanet, JAMIS (or a similar ERP system).
  • Strong understanding of DCAA regulations and FAR/CAS compliance.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
