About the position

The Certified Public Accountant position at Clenera offers an opportunity to work in the sustainable energy sector without the constraints of traditional public accounting. This role focuses on advanced accounting functions, including financial statement analysis, month-end and year-end closings, tax compliance, and internal auditing. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment that requires research and critical thinking, as the industry evolves rapidly. The position allows for remote work with occasional travel to the Boise office for team engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Independently prepares and reviews a variety of financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Review and occasionally prepare journal entries and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports, including assets, liabilities, and profit and loss statements.
  • Review consolidated financial statements for investors and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect contracts for accounting requirements and recommend solutions for discrepancies.
  • Manage accounting tasks related to solar projects, consolidations, and financial statements.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with tax compliance and quarterly entries.
  • Serve as the primary contact during annual audits and collaborate cross-functionally within the organization.
  • Maintain project timelines and deliverables with organizational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of public accounting experience.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • SOX compliance implementation experience (2 years preferred)
  • CPA certification (preferred)
