About the position
We are seeking a Leave Replacement School Psychologist to join our team at Fox Lane Middle School from January to June. This full-time position focuses on providing psychological support to elementary-aged students, addressing their emotional, social, and academic needs through counseling and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' emotional, social, and academic needs.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations to assess students' psychological needs and develop appropriate interventions.
- Provide crisis intervention services to students experiencing acute emotional distress.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create effective case management strategies for students.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and strategies for improvement.
Requirements
- Strong background in school psychology with experience working directly with children.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and the ability to implement them.
- Experience in conducting diagnostic evaluations and developing comprehensive safety plans.
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration among educators, parents, and mental health professionals.
- Ability to manage casework effectively while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- NYS School Psychologist Certification is required.
