About the position

The Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT) role at The Staff Pad involves providing essential support in the operating room for minimally invasive surgical procedures. This position is focused on maintaining a sterile environment, ensuring the readiness of surgical instruments, and delivering high-quality customer service to surgical teams. The role requires a commitment to excellence in sterile processing and a proactive approach to anticipating the needs of surgeons and OR staff.

Responsibilities

• Model a high standard of performance to staff and peers in the operating room.
• Understand procedures being performed and anticipate the needs of surgeons.
• Ensure the maintenance of the sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Demonstrate skill in pre-operative setup, intra-operative technical support, and post-operative turnover.
• Manage equipment maintenance and repair, ensuring all instruments are ready for use.
• Maintain high standards for decontamination, inspection, assembly, wrapping, and sterilization of surgical instruments.
• Ensure no instruments are left unprocessed at the end of each day.
• Maintain laparoscopic equipment and process repairs for instruments and scopes as needed.
• Keep current preference cards for surgeons updated.
• Exhibit professionalism in service, behavior, and communication with team members and hospital staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some college preferred.
• 1 year of experience in sterile processing required.
• Must have CRCST or CBSPD certification.

Benefits

• $10,000 sign-on/retention bonus
• Compensation starting at $20.60 per hour, increasing to $23.00 after 120 days
• Pay may increase based on years of experience
