About the position
The Certified Surgical Tech Cardiothoracic position at AdventHealth involves assisting with patient care in surgery, specifically in the cardiothoracic unit. The role requires performing technical duties as part of the surgical team, ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are prepared for surgical procedures, and maintaining high standards of care and safety. Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care in surgery by performing technical duties under general supervision.
- Function as a scrub person in the surgical team, providing care to surgical patients across various age groups.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and keep the circulating nurse informed during procedures.
- Ensure all supplies, equipment, and medications are assembled prior to surgical procedures.
- Assist with safe and appropriate operating room turnover times and direct ancillary personnel during room turnover.
- Supervise other healthcare team members in the surgical environment and assist with their orientation and training.
Requirements
- Certified Surgical Tech certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
- BLS certification.
