About the position
As a Certified Surgical Tech at Newport Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in providing quality care to patients by preparing and maintaining medical equipment for surgical procedures. This position involves working as part of the operating room team, ensuring that all supplies and instruments are ready for surgeries while adhering to proper standards of care and aseptic techniques.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
- Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patients during pre-operation procedures.
- Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body, and medical equipment.
- May be required to transport patients to and from the operating room.
- Serves as a scrub technician as appropriate for each surgical procedure.
Requirements
- Current BLS from AHA or ARC.
- Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Successful completion of the surgical technologist LCC-ST certifying exam and hold current national Surgical Technologist Certification.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
