About the position
The Certified Teacher for 6th Grade ELA at Dibrell Elementary is responsible for creating a conducive learning environment and delivering effective instruction to help students develop essential skills and knowledge. The role involves planning lessons, assessing student progress, and maintaining classroom order while adhering to the educational philosophy and policies of the Warren County Board of Education.
Responsibilities
- Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated times.
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs of students.
- Creates a conducive classroom environment appropriate for students' maturity and interests.
- Prepares for classes and provides written evidence of preparation upon request.
- Encourages students to maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Guides the learning process toward achieving curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
- Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required.
- Diagnoses learning disabilities and provides necessary reports.
- Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
- Assists administration in implementing policies and rules governing student conduct.
- Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintains order.
- Makes provisions for availability to students and parents outside instructional hours.
- Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides and volunteers.
- Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required.
Requirements
- Valid Tennessee Teaching License.
- Ability to manage and discipline students.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Effective communication skills with students and parents.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in teaching English Language Arts at the middle school level.
- Familiarity with diverse learning needs and instructional strategies.
