About the position

The Certified Technician, Pharmacy - PRN position at Kaiser Permanente involves performing clerical and technical duties under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The role is essential for maintaining pharmacy services in compliance with departmental policies, state regulations, and ensuring effective delivery of pharmacy services to members.

Responsibilities

• Performs general clerical duties including cash register operation, cash handling, member eligibility verification, bookkeeping, filing, and general supply maintenance.
• Under supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, performs technical duties including entering prescription and allergy data into the computer, typing prescription labels, retrieving medication from shelves, counting and packaging medication, and labeling medication.
• Assists with inventory control, purchasing, pharmaceutical returns, return-to-stock, shelf cleanliness, product rotation, and maintenance.
• Serves members in a friendly, courteous, and expedient manner to promote member satisfaction and retention.
• Works with medical records and nursing staff to collect and disseminate prescription-related information.
• Instructs new pharmacy personnel regarding department policies and procedures under supervisor's direction.
• Participates in patient education programs as appropriate.
• May have specific clinical pharmacy service responsibilities such as patient enrollment, telecommunication to patients and practitioners, and maintaining a filing system.

Requirements

• One (1) year of dispensing technician experience.
• High School Diploma.
• Pharmacy Technician License (Georgia).
• Pharmacy Technician Certificate.
• Must maintain requirements of Continuing Education.
