About the position

The Certified Tradesworker - Plumbing position involves performing advanced maintenance and repair work in County buildings, with a focus on plumbing tasks. The role requires coordination with other tradesworkers and technicians, ensuring adherence to safety and building codes while executing various maintenance tasks. The position also includes emergency response duties and may involve supervising assigned personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled and highly technical building maintenance and repair tasks in adherence with code.
• Coordinate the work of other Certified Tradesworkers or Technicians.
• Prepare detailed and accurate lists of materials for jobs and projects.
• Respond to and take action in emergency situations to prevent potentially hazardous conditions.
• Perform cleanup and worksite restoration after tasks are completed.
• Interact with engineers and contractors during maintenance, repairs, and project tasks.
• Participate in projects as part of a work team and make technical decisions.
• Maintain records and reports as required.
• Follow safety procedures carefully at all times.
• Function independently under administrative direction.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree and six (6) years of experience.
• Five (5) years of experience in the plumbing trade.
• Ability to perform mathematical computations.
• Ability to carry out written or oral instructions.
• Ability to operate various tools, both manual and power.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
• Familiarity with automated office systems (Word, Excel, CMMS, etc.).
• Ability to read basic blueprints.
• Ability to use or repair small, medium, and heavy equipment and machinery.

Nice-to-haves

• Trade Journeyman's License desired, if applicable.
• Preference will be given to applicants who are licensed plumbers.
