About the position

The Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) position at the Wisconsin Humane Society's Spay/Neuter Clinic in West Allis offers a rewarding opportunity to support animal welfare through surgical care and client interaction. The role is available in both full-time and part-time capacities, allowing for flexibility in work hours. The CVT will work closely with a dedicated team of veterinary professionals, honing surgical skills while contributing to the clinic's mission of providing affordable spay/neuter services to the community.

Responsibilities

• Surgical prep of patients and post-operative care
• Anesthetize, intubate, and extubate patients
• Monitor vitals under anesthesia and troubleshoot anesthetic equipment as needed
• Calculate drug dosages; handle and track controlled substances
• Clean and maintain equipment, surgical quarters, and animal areas as needed
• Ensure prompt and accurate paperwork procedures are followed
• Effectively communicate in a friendly and professional manner with co-workers and the public
• Provide excellent customer service

Requirements

• Veterinary Technician Certification required
• Experience in a veterinary clinic and/or animal shelter preferred
• Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day
