About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee all financial operations within the organization, ensuring that financial management aligns with the strategic vision of the company. This role involves budget management, forecasting, securing funding, coordinating audits, and managing accounting operations. The CFO will play a critical role in enhancing financial efficiency and reporting financial performance to management and the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on the strategic vision of the organization, ensuring the financial management aligns with the overall goals.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies and systems.
  • Oversee, review, and adhere to the budgets for each department.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors.
  • Coordinate, analyze, and report the financial performance to Management and Board of Directors.
  • Implement procedures to improve financial efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Oversee investment strategies and ensure they are consistent with the organization's mission and the directions of the Board.
  • Conduct monthly financial budgeting reports, including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast versus budget by division.
  • Manage all accounting functions, including business systems, auditing, budget processes, capital management, cash flow analysis, and payroll.

Requirements

  • Must hold a minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position
  • Proven experience with business systems and their integration into financial operations
  • Proficiency in conducting and managing accounting functions
  • Demonstrable expertise in auditing and compliance
  • Strong knowledge of budget processes and financial forecasting
  • Expertise in capital management strategies
  • Proficient in cash flow analysis and financial reporting
  • Experience with Sage Intacct and ADP for payroll processing
  • Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and business development skills
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
  • Professional accounting certification, such as CFA or CPA, is highly desirable.
