About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Granger ISD is responsible for overseeing all financial and business affairs of the district. This role involves providing leadership for financial services, ensuring effective management practices, and serving as the chief financial advisor to the superintendent and board of trustees. The CFO will direct the management and investment of district funds, ensuring they are adequately protected and legally sound.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial and business affairs of the district.
• Provide leadership for the district's financial services activity.
• Direct and monitor the management and investment of all district funds.
• Serve as chief financial advisor and budget advisor to the superintendent and board of trustees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field.
• Advanced knowledge of school finance, budgeting, accounting systems, and economics.
• Knowledge of information/data processing systems and financial applications.
• Ability to resolve conflict and respond to concerns appropriately.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Ability to manage budget and personnel.
• Ability to implement policy and procedures.
• Ability to interpret data.
• Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Two years of preferred administrative or management experience.
• Two years of preferred experience with supervisory responsibility in finance or accounting.
