About the position

The CFO at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Milwaukee Hospital is a strategic leadership role responsible for enhancing existing business models and developing new ones in response to changes in healthcare economics. This position requires strong strategic skills, leadership abilities, and a comprehensive knowledge base to integrate various strategies, optimize financial performance, and develop business models for new ventures and partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an integral member of the senior leadership team responsible for organizational strategic planning and oversight.
  • Align work to the larger strategic plan and oversee financial policy, programs, processes, and research.
  • Set clear goals and accountabilities for finance staff, monitor progress, and ensure targets are met.
  • Provide expertise on business and finance issues to support decision-making.
  • Develop finance team strategies to meet organizational needs and motivate non-financial leaders and clinical staff.
  • Drive utilization management to ensure effective use of resources and reduce costs.
  • Provide financial vision and advice on new service lines and growth opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with physician groups and other healthcare providers for collaboration.
  • Serve as a liaison between finance and administration areas to optimize financial performance.
  • Represent finance with external stakeholders and participate in committees.

Requirements

  • 7 years of management experience in a relevant field.
  • CPA or Master's degree preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong organizational skills and leadership experience.
  • Demonstrable financial leadership experience in complex organizations.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience with healthcare delivery, quality, risk management, and compliance.
  • Board membership experience and community involvement.
