About the position

The CFO (Construction) will be responsible for overseeing the financial strategy of the company, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and managing financial operations within the construction industry. This role requires a strong background in finance and accounting, particularly within the construction sector, to effectively manage financial statements, budgets, and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project management using project management software
• Oversee accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and budget forecasting
• Manage cash flow and supervise accounts receivable and payables
• Coordinate insurance and prepare lien waivers & pay applications
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports
• Continuously update Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedule
• Ensure government compliance in all financial tasks
• Close books and prepare month-end financials
• Prepare all year-end financial reports and schedules for auditors
• Oversee tax reporting and compliance

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of experience in finance
• Proficiency with current financial software
• Understanding of US GAAP
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Leadership qualities
• Background in the construction industry is a plus
