About the position
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, part of the Deaconess Health System, plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing all financial activities of the hospital. This position is responsible for ensuring that the financial condition of the organization is communicated effectively to the CEO of FMH, Deaconess Leadership, and the Board of Directors. The role requires active participation in hospital leadership, focusing on organizational performance and fostering a team-oriented culture. The CFO will be based on-site at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, ensuring close engagement with the hospital's operations and staff.
Responsibilities
- Administer, direct, and monitor all financial activities of the hospital.
- Keep the FMH CEO, Deaconess Leadership, and the Board of Directors informed of the financial condition of the organization.
- Develop financial goals and objectives for the organization.
- Provide proactive and sound guidance regarding management of assets and investments.
- Analyze financial trends within the organization and provide insights for decision-making.
- Actively participate in hospital leadership and organizational performance initiatives.
- Foster a team-oriented culture within the financial department and across the hospital.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Master's degree in accounting or healthcare administration preferred.
- Minimum of five years of hospital financial management experience required.
- Prior experience as a hospital CFO preferred.
- Experience in a Critical Access Hospital preferred.
