About the position
The CFO-In-Residence role at Acuity is designed for experienced financial professionals who can provide strategic financial guidance to a diverse range of clients. This position allows individuals to leverage their expertise in financial management, operational strategy, and technology to help small to medium-sized businesses navigate complex financial challenges. The role is flexible, offering part-time or full-time options, and emphasizes collaboration within a dynamic team environment.
Responsibilities
- Utilize significant industry experience to solve sophisticated financial challenges for clients.
- Foster and develop relationships with clients and team members through excellent communication skills.
- Function as an operational CFO, collaborating with the client's executive team and Acuity staff.
- Provide guidance on strategic planning, capital raises, financial models, complex accounting issues, and budgeting/forecasting.
- Use technology efficiently to improve client expectations and processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CFO or in a similar financial leadership role.
- Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience with equity raises and building financial models for startups and emerging companies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including Board of Directors and staff accountants.
- Familiarity with cloud-based financial systems such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, and Intaact.
Nice-to-haves
- CPA license is a plus.
- Experience in various industries such as Healthcare, IT, SaaS, manufacturing, distribution, and retail.
