The CFO - Market Acute position is based in Wellington, Florida, and oversees the financial operations and performance of the acute care operations in the South Carolina/Florida region. This includes managing several medical centers such as Aiken Regional Medical Center, Wellington Regional Medical Center, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, and Manatee Memorial Hospital, among others. The CFO will work closely with the Group Vice President (GVP) and the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Finance for the acute division, playing a critical role in the development and execution of integrated delivery network strategies that drive long-term success in the region. Key responsibilities include overseeing the Market's accounting, business office, materials management, medical records, information services, and other assigned departments. The CFO will supervise the financial reporting process, ensuring the preparation of reports that outline the financial position and operating profit and loss statements. Additionally, the CFO will analyze the profitability of existing operations and make recommendations for improvement, while also managing and developing employees to foster a high-performance culture.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the Market's accounting, business office, materials management, medical records, information services, and other departments as assigned.
  • Supervises the market's financial reporting process, including the preparation of reports outlining financial position and operating profit and loss statements.
  • Ensures timely filing of federal, state, hospital association, third party, and other financial reports as required.
  • Maximizes market operational performance by analyzing profitability of existing operations, product lines, and contractual agreements, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Manages and develops employees, creating a motivating climate and providing direction, coaching, and feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely-related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant progressive financial experience with a healthcare organization.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP, Medicare and Medicaid regulations, and federal and local tax regulations.
  • Knowledge of business office operations from registration to cash collection, and managed care processes and agreements.
  • Skilled in preparing financial statements and operating reports that accurately reflect the entity's performance.
  • Adept at using electronic spreadsheets and manipulating data within proprietary and acquired databases.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely-related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial experience within an acute care setting.
