UHS is currently seeking a Market CFO for its Acute Care operations in the South Carolina/Florida region, based in Wellington, FL. This role encompasses oversight of financial operations and performance for the region, which includes several medical centers such as Aiken Regional Medical Center and Wellington Regional Medical Center. The Market CFO will work closely with the Group Vice President (GVP) and the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Finance for the Acute Division, playing a critical role in the development and execution of integrated delivery network strategies that drive long-term success. The CFO will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the finance departments within the market, which includes the development and administration of policies related to finance, accounting, insurance, and internal controls. This position requires a strong focus on maximizing operational performance, analyzing profitability, and managing departmental heads to ensure effective communication and performance monitoring. The CFO will also supervise the financial reporting process, ensuring timely preparation and filing of necessary financial reports, and will be instrumental in managing and developing employees to foster a high-performance culture.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Market's accounting, business office, materials management, medical records, information services, and other assigned departments.
  • Monitor market performance through department heads and supervisors.
  • Establish communication systems to ensure effective information flow.
  • Supervise the market's financial reporting process and ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare reports outlining financial position and operating profit and loss statements.
  • Ensure timely filing of federal, state, hospital association, and third-party financial reports.
  • Maximize market operational performance and analyze profitability of existing operations and product lines.
  • Manage and develop employees, creating a motivating climate for high performance.
  • Establish direction, coach employees, provide feedback, and build commitment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely-related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant progressive financial experience with a healthcare organization.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP, Medicare and Medicaid regulations, and federal and local tax regulations.
  • Knowledge of business office operations from registration to cash collection.
  • Understanding of managed care and payer processes, including negotiation terms.
  • Proficient in all accounting processes including accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting.
  • Ability to prepare financial statements and operating reports accurately and timely.
  • Skilled in interpreting financial analysis and performance data.
  • Proficient in using electronic spreadsheets and manipulating data within databases.
  • Strong communication skills to convey ideas and facts effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely-related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial experience within an acute care setting.
