About the position

Our client seeks a CFO to lead their team in Tucson, Arizona (Non Profit). The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, developing financial strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and internal policies, and managing relationships with financial service providers. This role will also involve collaborating with other organizations on strategic planning and fundraising strategies, and mentoring and leading a team of finance department staff. The CFO will oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. They will develop and implement financial strategies and policies that align with the organization's goals, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and internal policies. The CFO will manage cash flow and forecasting, directing all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting. They will coordinate and produce all tax documentation as required, prepare annual budgets and financial plans, and monitor progress against these plans. In addition, the CFO will evaluate and manage risk, implementing financial controls to safeguard organizational assets. They will analyze complex financial data and provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making. Presenting financial reports to the board of directors, stakeholders, and executive teams will be a key responsibility. The CFO will collaborate with executive team members on strategic planning and organizational development, manage relationships with financial service providers including banks and insurance companies, and oversee and evaluate the performance of the finance and accounting team. They will work closely with other nonprofit organizations and partners to develop strategies for fundraising and income generation, support auditing processes, and cooperate with external auditors. Mentoring and leading a team of finance department staff will also be part of their duties, along with participating in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a CFO or similar high-level financial role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Accounting Software Systems.
  • Proficiency in 3M and ADP - Financial Services is required.
  • Familiarity with Business systems and CRM is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Accounting Functions including auditing, budget processes, and cash flow analysis.
  • Substantial experience in Capital Management and Budget Management.
  • Proven track record of effective leadership in a financial capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field is required; an advanced degree such as an MBA or a qualification such as a CPA is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an investigative nature.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems.
  • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity are required.
  • Ability to keep company confidences and proprietary information secure.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is necessary.
  • Strong IT skills and familiarity with financial software.
