About the position

The CFO will lead the financial strategies of a small credit union in Natick, ensuring compliance with regulations and prioritizing the interests of customers and employees. This role involves providing strategic direction, maintaining financial stability, and fostering member satisfaction through positive relationships and adherence to applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial strategies and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare various internal financial statements and external regulatory reports, including call reports.
  • Assist with external audits and controls.
  • Prepare and process month-end accruals.
  • Assist in the preparation of the allowance for credit loss (CECL).
  • Direct the accounting functions of the organization.
  • Manage operational data and maintain data accuracy and integrity.
  • Review financial data periodically for fairness and completeness.
  • Develop operational documentation and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Evaluate workflow processes to recommend and implement changes for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide accounting support to the department.
  • Reconcile various general ledger accounts and resolve outstanding items promptly.
  • Process and reconcile investment activity.
  • Prepare financial reports for the board.
  • Prepare semi-annual uninsured deposits reporting.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7+ years of experience with a strong accounting and finance background, including management.
  • Experience in banking, specifically with Call reports and CECL.
  • Strong Excel skills.
