About the position

Tatum is supporting a company in its efforts to hire their Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This company is private equity (PE) backed and is seeking a candidate who can help the business continue to grow while navigating a potential sale process in 2025. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of readiness to transition into the CFO role and will be a key member of the company's executive leadership team. This individual will be intimately involved with the sale process and will interact with various external parties to facilitate progress. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to pivot from high-level executive responsibilities to more detailed, operational tasks as needed. The CFO will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, providing financial and operational insights to support the growth of the business. This role includes leading and managing accounting and reporting functions to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The CFO will stay informed on current financial pronouncements, literature, and regulatory guidelines, which will involve hiring a Controller for daily management of these functions. Close collaboration with private equity sponsors on strategy execution and accurate reporting is essential, as is working with banks and other financing parties to address the organization’s capital needs. In addition to these responsibilities, the CFO will partner with the CEO in the day-to-day oversight of business operations and company objectives. They will oversee the preparation of monthly performance reviews and reporting packages for investors and the executive team, providing analysis and insights to senior managers and business line leaders to support ongoing business decisions. The CFO will also assess business performance to identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for revenue enhancement, cost containment, and resource optimization.
