About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Altamaha Federal Credit Union is responsible for managing the financial performance of the credit union, setting its financial course, and assisting in strategic planning and risk management. This role involves overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and investment strategies, as well as ensuring compliance during regulatory exams and audits. The CFO will also manage the credit union's Information Security program and Vendor Due Diligence program, ensuring the financial safety and soundness of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage the financial performance of the credit union in conjunction with the executive management team and/or ALCO.
• Perform budgeting, financial reporting, product and services forecasting, and analysis to ensure financial safety.
• Maintain an investment strategy to optimize fund use and maximize investment income.
• Oversee the accounting operations of the credit union.
• Act as the key liaison during regulatory exams and audits.
• Oversee the credit union's Information Security program, addressing cybersecurity needs.
• Manage the Vendor Due Diligence program.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
• Master of Business Administration and/or Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
• Minimum three years in a lead accounting management role, preferably in credit union accounting management.
• Working knowledge of personal computers, networking systems, information systems, and cybersecurity.
• Expertise in financial recording and reporting platforms, especially in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, and Outlook.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and technical procedures.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to perform complex calculations and apply common sense understanding to instructions.
