About the position

The YMCA of the Fox Cities is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic leadership and foster a culture of financial excellence. This key strategic position is part of the Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the CEO and COO to ensure the long-term success and viability of the organization. The CFO will oversee the finance department and technology, manage a substantial budget, and collaborate with senior leaders to align business operations with the Y's mission and core values.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Oversee the development of the annual operating budget, including all branch budgets.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor all banking and financing relationships.
  • Manage tax-exempt bond transactions and file all necessary reports.
  • Oversee compliance with Federal contracts and New Market Tax Credits agreements.
  • Prepare analysis and reports, providing guidance to executive and operating staff.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization's mission and goals.
  • Review, update, and develop internal control systems and oversee audits.
  • Collaborate with assigned committee(s) of the Board to build volunteer relationships and develop policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related discipline; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
  • Seven+ years of substantive, relevant experience in accounting and fiscal management.
  • Leadership experience totaling a minimum of five years, including managing teams.
  • Management of a budget of 25+ million dollars.
  • Knowledge of budget development, financial reporting, cash management, business taxes, and debt financing instruments.
  • Experience with finance and operational software, including software selection and project management.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Office Suite.

  • Experience with investment management and asset allocation.
  • Previous experience with volunteer/nonprofit organizations.
