About the position

Hometap is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its leadership team. This executive role will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for driving the company's business and financial strategy, overseeing all aspects of financial management. The ideal candidate will have deep capital management experience and a strong background in financial services, with a focus on deal-making and strategic financial planning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact as the company expands its operations and enhances its financial functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to Hometap and the finance team.
• Drive financing and capital-raising processes that create business value and strategic differentiation.
• Develop strong relationships with capital partners and investors.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team.
• Oversee execution across finance functions, including board material preparation, long-term strategic financial planning, FP&A, audits, payroll and accounting, and tax.

Requirements

• Deep experience in capital management and financial services.
• Demonstrated bias for action and accountability in an operational environment.
• Strong interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
• Strategic-minded and analytical with a comprehensive understanding of business operations.
• Proven business acumen and understanding of legal, regulatory, and financial elements of the business.
• Experience managing a finance function and team.

Nice-to-haves

• Direct experience in the consumer home financing or related space is a major plus.
• Preference for candidates who live in the Greater Boston area or can be in Boston twice a month.
