About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at First State Bank of Uvalde is responsible for overseeing the bank's accounting practices, internal controls, and financial reporting. This role involves managing the accounting department, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial analyses to guide management and the Board. The CFO will lead a proactive, performance-driven team to enhance the bank's financial operations and contribute to its overall mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a proactive performance-driven accounting department.
  • Oversee the company's accounting practices and internal controls.
  • Prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Supervise general accounting, department staff, and property accounting.
  • Develop profit and loss accounting models for branches and departments.
  • Establish daily bank dashboard accounting systems.
  • Assist the Trust Department with accounting and reporting support.
  • Coordinate the preparation of documents for external financial audits.
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 8+ years of experience in bank accounting/operations.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and general computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance in banking.
