About the position

Robert Half is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a leading industrial company located in the greater New Orleans area. This key position will guide the financial strategy of the organization, providing recommendations to the board of directors and ensuring the financial health and stability of the company. The CFO will oversee various financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, and treasury functions, while collaborating closely with executive management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the finance and administration of the company, ensuring financial health and stability.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and budgets for internal use, including for affiliated entities and family real estate investments.
  • Manage external financial reporting, including audited financials.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and credit management across all companies.
  • Manage accounts payable for merchandise and expenses, considering inventory fluctuation and cash flow.
  • Execute treasury functions including banking relationships, cash management, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Provide oversight for corporate and family tax consulting.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to legal matters, contracts, insurance, and human resources.
  • Develop key performance indicators and corporate objectives as part of strategic planning.
  • Collaborate closely with the President, board of directors, and other managers, fostering trust and respect.
  • Demonstrate leadership in guiding the company in accordance with its mission and strategic direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CFA is a plus.
  • Proven expertise in Capital Management.
  • Proficiency in Cash Flow Analysis.
  • Extensive experience in Budgeting and Forecasting.
  • Strong knowledge of Treasury management.
  • Demonstrated ability in Financial Reporting.
  • Skilled in Strategic Planning.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certification such as CPA or CFA is a plus.
  • Proven strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management.
