About the position

Community West Credit Union is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of the credit union, including accounting, financial reporting, audit, regulatory examinations, investment management, and asset-liability management. The CFO will play a crucial role in strategizing and managing all financial aspects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving the financial growth of the organization. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist the President/CEO in overseeing the financial activities of the credit union.
• Direct the preparation of financial reports and summaries.
• Create forecasts predicting future growth.
• Manage treasury, budgeting, tax, accounting, asset and liability management, and financial control activities.
• Plan, direct, and control the organization's overall financial plans and policies.
• Oversee and manage the financial and accounting team, including their development plans and performance standards.
• Provide mentoring and coaching to support and develop managers and staff.
• Drive and direct training initiatives and support team development.
• Collaborate with other teams on key growth and change initiatives.

Requirements

• B.A. or B.S. in finance or accounting required (CPA and/or post graduate degree preferred).
• 5 years of leadership experience or 10-15 years of executive level experience in a credit union.
• Ability to motivate and influence senior level executives.
• Excellent analytical, interpretive, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Experience in budgeting and strategic planning.
• Experience in investment strategies and management of liquidity and investment portfolios.
• Prior examination and audit experience in a consumer banking setting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of interest rate and liquidity risk management.
• Experience with GAAP and all State and Federal regulations affecting the finance function.
