About the position

The Tax Manager position at Panda Restaurant Group is responsible for overseeing the preparation of year-end financial data and tax returns for investment and operation entities. This role involves assisting with foreign tax reporting, managing quarterly estimated tax payments, and addressing notices from Federal and state tax authorities. The Tax Manager ensures accuracy in tax documentation and collaborates with outside CPAs for tax return preparation and filing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation of tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations, and tax documentation related to Cherng investment entities, including Form 1065 and 1120S.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data.
  • Prepare year-end financial data and work with outside CPA for year-end investment entities (LLCs) tax return preparation and filing.
  • Maintain the Fixed Assets worksheet and verify asset details in the accounting system for CFT.
  • Prepare journal entries and ensure accurate and timely posting to the real estate general ledger.
  • Assist in preparation of foreign tax reporting for Cherng foreign investments.
  • Prepare quarterly State and Federal estimated tax payments for individual and investment LLC entities.
  • Review monthly state sales tax return and conduct related research for regulations and registration of new property.
  • Perform research on various accounting/tax issues and prepare proposed AJE (Adjustment to Journal Entry).
  • Assist in responding to notices from Federal and state tax authorities.
  • Track K1 investment activity by entity and record adjusting entries in Yardi and Eton.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience, with increasing management responsibility.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
