About the position

The ERP CGI Advantage Applications Programmer is a contract position responsible for leading and executing complex IT application design, development, testing, and support for both new and existing software applications within a government agency. This role involves planning, configuring, and managing system environments to meet organizational IT architecture and business needs, ensuring adherence to security protocols and maintaining program documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop application software by analyzing requirements, designing system architecture, coding, debugging, and ensuring software quality and functionality.
  • Support operating systems by analyzing requirements, configuring software environments, integrating hardware and software, monitoring system performance, and implementing security policies.
  • Ensure adherence to security protocols in both application development and operating systems.
  • Maintain program documentation and evaluate new technologies.
  • Collaborate with customers to test and refine applications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming.
  • At least four (4) years of experience in a lead capacity.
  • Proficiency in operating system installation, configuration, and optimization.
  • Strong grasp of database management, data modeling, and transaction processing.
  • Understanding of system engineering concepts like reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Clear verbal and written communication abilities for documentation and reporting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Expertise in supporting ERP CGI Advantage (versions 3.11 and 4.x).
  • Skilled in designing and implementing technical solutions for complex ERP applications, including batch and real-time integrations.
  • Proficient in relational database management (PL/SQL, Toad, Oracle SQL Developer) and scripting for task automation.
  • Experience with batch job scheduling (similar to Control-M).
  • Knowledge of integration tools (PDI9, Pentaho) for interface mapping.
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum, Jira, Confluence, and ticket management systems.
