About the position

The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking a Chair for the Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences. This leadership role involves overseeing faculty, learners, and staff while advancing research and educational initiatives in pharmacology and nutritional sciences. The Chair will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of academic excellence and fostering collaboration within the department and across the college.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences, overseeing all faculty, learners, and staff.
  • Continue personal research program while supervising academic activities.
  • Mentor faculty and train future leaders in pharmacology and nutritional sciences.
  • Develop collaborative initiatives within the department and the broader university.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and belonging within the department and college.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. and/or M.D. or equivalent degree required.
  • Substantial track record of sustained scientific accomplishment and extramural funding.
  • Prior extensive administrative experience as a department chair, vice chair, or director of graduate studies or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated commitment to academic and educational leadership.
  • Experience sufficient to be a tenured full Professor.
