About the position

The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to assist in a variety of administrative and marketing duties. This part-time position is essential for supporting the daily operations of the Chamber and enhancing its outreach within the community. The Marketing Coordinator will serve as the marketing administrator, responsible for maintaining the Chamber's website and social media platforms, as well as providing technical support to the Chamber President/CEO and Membership & Retention Manager. The role involves attending Chamber events, coordinating activities, and assisting with the development of publications. The Marketing Coordinator will also provide customer service at the front desk when needed and will be involved in training events as required. This position is crucial for promoting the Chamber's image and fostering relationships with local businesses and community members.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative and technical support to the Chamber President/CEO and Membership & Retention Manager.
  • Answers questions and provides information to the public and Chamber members.
  • Maintains and updates the Chamber's website and social media sites.
  • Advises membership on new programs, events, and services the Chamber has available.
  • Assists existing businesses with growth opportunities, education, and mentoring.
  • Provides assistance in coordinating, planning, and organizing Chamber-related functions.
  • Participates in Chamber activities to promote and enhance the image and relationship of the Chamber with all groups and parties in the community.
  • Assists with the development of publications printed and distributed by the Chamber.
  • Assists in training events as needed.
  • Provides customer service at the front desk when the receptionist is out of the office.

Requirements

  • One year of general clerical or secretarial experience.
  • Completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized administrative training or related work.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Proficient software skills including Microsoft Office applications and Windows.
  • Social media skills including Facebook, Twitter, and Hootsuite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Chamber Master software.
  • Knowledge of ongoing activities and events sponsored by the Chamber.
