About the position

The ILS Administrator and Software Developer at the University of Central Oklahoma's Chambers Library is responsible for administering the library's technology platform, developing API connections, and enhancing access to library resources. This full-time position requires collaboration with various library departments and campus IT, along with maintaining patron data privacy and providing user support for library systems. The role also involves professional development and participation in library committees.

Responsibilities

• Administer the library technology platform (Ex Libris Alma and Primo).
• Develop API connections with other library systems and software (including PowerBI).
• Assist campus users of the Alma system.
• Enhance access to library and community resources.
• Complete Alma and Primo certifications within the first three months of employment.
• Work closely with library departments and campus IT.
• Manage fulfillment configurations and user management.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of patron data.
• Facilitate communication with vendors via tickets and direct contact.
• Respond to library user submitted tickets.
• Participate in professional development and suggest improvements to ILS software.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a job-related field plus 3 years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Degree or coursework in computer science, management of information systems, and/or library and information science.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with SaaS and enterprise systems (especially integrated library systems).
• Familiarity with responsive web design.
• Familiarity with Microsoft PowerBI.
• Working knowledge of the use and application of APIs.
• Familiarity with common coding and scripting languages like PHP, Java, SQL, regular expressions, Angular JS, and Python.
