About the position

In this pivotal role, you'll spearhead the Division's project controls program, steering both contract and change management activities. This position is essential for shaping the future of projects and driving strategic success across the Division, making you a cornerstone of our contract and change management initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret contract language to understand the risks, rights, and responsibilities of the project teams.
  • Guide project teams in managing contracts to limit the Company's exposure to additional costs.
  • Review and analyze contract management records to provide technical advice or project control guidance.
  • Oversee project change and claim reporting, providing reports to the Project Controls Director.
  • Support change and claim preparation for projects within the Division.
  • Assist projects in preparing for dispute resolution hearings and alternative resolution methods meetings.
  • Support integration of Company systems to track, monitor, and control costs or schedule and claim resolution.
  • Ensure accurate training and utilization of approved systems for project document control and reporting.
  • Perform regular project reviews and monitor job risks and change management against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate with project teams and Project Controls Director in tracking and monitoring change order and claims preparation and resolution.
  • Prepare action plans for resolving unsecured revenue, including Unsecured Revenue and Claims reporting forms.
  • Review under billing to determine possible measures for resolution.
  • Coordinate and manage assistance to outside counsel and third-party consultants for claim and change resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
  • 7+ years' experience in construction engineering, project management, or project controls required.
  • Experience with complex scheduling, cost control processes, claims/change preparation, and dispute resolution procedures required.
  • Knowledge of construction contract agreements and change order processes required.
  • Knowledge of various methodologies for claims pricing and preparation.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, including construction accounting, required.
  • Proven leadership and influential skills.
