About the position

The Change Control Manager (CCM) is a pivotal role within the Program Management Organization at Trident Maritime Systems, primarily responsible for overseeing the development and management of changes and modifications related to customers and suppliers. This position entails handling various aspects of change requests, including customer change requests, internal modifications, and producibility business cases, as well as assisting in the make-buy process. The CCM plays a crucial role in planning, procurement, and engineering of approved changes and modifications, ensuring that all changes are effectively communicated and managed throughout the organization. In this role, the CCM will work closely with Trident's Program Manager (PM) to facilitate customer negotiations and participate in customer meetings as necessary. Strong leadership, reporting, and presentation skills are essential, as the CCM serves as the focal point for all change development and reporting. Regular interaction with planning, production, engineering, and supply chain personnel is required to gather material and labor estimates, which are critical for creating accurate labor and material cost estimates. The CCM is responsible for completing the necessary change forms and final pricing for proposed changes, as well as briefing senior management, including the Regional VP, GM, and PMs, on estimates, risks, and primary cost drivers. The position also involves overseeing the incorporation of changes across the organization, with a focus on budget and schedule impacts. Additionally, the CCM assists the PM in negotiating customer changes and supports the Supply Chain in supplier claim recoveries. The role requires the preparation of various reports, charts, and graphs to keep management informed about program, project, or contract status, and maintaining a comprehensive Master Change/Claims log for all open and closed changes and claims.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day development and management of change/modifications to customers and suppliers.
  • Create labor and material cost and pricing estimates from information supplied by functional groups.
  • Complete appropriate change forms and finalize pricing for proposed changes.
  • Brief senior management on estimates, risks, and primary cost drivers.
  • Participate in technical discussions related to ship design and construction for complete change proposals.
  • Oversee incorporation of changes throughout the organization with emphasis on budgets and schedules.
  • Assist PM in negotiation of customer changes and support Supply Chain in supplier claim recoveries.
  • Prepare reports, charts, and graphs on program, project, or contract status for management presentations.
  • Maintain a Master Change/Claims log with comprehensive status of all changes/claims.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding Change Proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3+) years of progressive responsibility in the shipbuilding industry or equivalent manufacturing industry.
  • Associate's degree and at least five (5+) years of progressive responsibility in the shipbuilding industry or equivalent manufacturing industry.
  • High School Diploma/GED and at least ten (10+) years of progressive responsibility in the shipbuilding industry or equivalent manufacturing industry.
  • Three (3+) years' experience in estimating or change management within the shipbuilding industry or equivalent manufacturing industry.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
  • Strong customer service and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to read/analyze program metrics.
  • Cost, schedule, and program management skills.
  • Understanding of risk/opportunity management.
