About the position

The Cost Controls Manager at AtkinsRéalis is responsible for overseeing cost management processes for infrastructure projects, ensuring accurate reporting, procurement services, and compliance with contractual requirements. This role involves preparing cost reports, reviewing invoices, managing change orders, and conducting earned value analysis, all while collaborating with technical staff and contractors to maintain project financial health.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and issues periodic cost reports to senior technical staff.
  • Reviews cash flow prepared by junior technical staff and issues to senior technical staff.
  • Reviews all change orders in accordance with the client's approval process.
  • Reviews all invoices for the project and ensures proper coding by junior technical staff.
  • Provides procurement services for construction and engineering services, including preparing RFP and bid analysis.
  • Overviews and reports to the client on contractor buyout of subcontract bid packages.
  • Attends bi-weekly cost meetings to review procurement and change order status with contractors and engineering teams.
  • Provides cost information on value engineering analysis.
  • Carries out earned value analysis of the project on a periodic basis.
  • Reviews contractors' close out administration to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Sets up and structures Change Management system for ongoing production and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Four years of relevant experience including Cost Management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Primavera or Microsoft Projects is preferred.
  • Proficient in Information Technology including Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project.

  • Experience in infrastructure planning and project management.
