About the position

This office-centric role requires working in the office four days a week and involves applying expert-level project management knowledge to oversee large, complex internal projects from initiation to completion. The position demands a deep understanding of project management principles, the ability to solve complex problems, and the capacity to recommend solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the team and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Leads or coordinates project planning activities for large, complex projects.
  • Defines problems and scope parameters, organizes project teams, and assigns individual responsibilities.
  • Develops project schedules and milestones, identifies structures of authority and processes for decision making.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with all stakeholders and manages resources throughout the project.
  • Measures project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Reports on the status of projects including key performance indicators (KPIs), cost, timing, and staffing.
  • Troubleshoots and manages activities to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Performs risk management to minimize project risks and resolves obstacles to project completion.
  • Recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments, or resource additions when necessary.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5-7 years of progressive related experience in consulting, project management, or process improvement.
  • Expert-level understanding of project management frameworks and methodologies.
  • Highly developed skills in developing and implementing processes, standards, and operational plans.
  • Proven leadership in implementing complex projects and issue resolution.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Expert-level cost and risk management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions under pressure and manage time effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
  • Experience implementing large/complex initiatives across a matrix organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of management and planning systems theory.
  • Experience with financial measurements and metrics.
  • Financial Services experience.
