About the position

The Learning and Development Manager at Northern Trust is a pivotal role focused on driving employee training and cultural change within the organization. This position is responsible for developing and implementing global change learning strategies that align with the company's objectives, particularly in the context of regulatory affairs and risk management. The manager will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality learning solutions that engage employees and support enterprise-wide transformation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop change learning plans and implement global employee learning strategies and tactics in support of global regulatory affairs training and programs.
  • Drive employee connection to the organization's purpose and strategic vision.
  • Align learning strategies and activities to create a cohesive narrative across the risk and controls enhancement program.
  • Lead the design and curation of global learning upskilling programs for transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies, frameworks, and roadmaps for learning upskilling activities.
  • Provide project management support, including planning and tracking key activities.
  • Manage a team of change learning consultants in support of the risk and control enhancement program.
  • Work closely with Change Communications Manager to ensure cohesive change stories for impacted stakeholders.
  • Document and manage the content distribution process involving reviewers and approvers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • 7+ years of employee learning experience supporting enterprise-wide programs.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with all audiences including senior leaders.
  • Proven experience managing delivery of critical changes in complex environments.
  • Ability to establish trust-based relationships with stakeholders across the enterprise.
  • Expertise in developing and delivering impactful learning solutions.
  • Experience in learning strategy, design, development, and systems/technology.
  • Strong business acumen and insight to translate strategic business goals into development programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Proven successful track record working in large/complex multi-location programs/projects.
