About the position

The Change Manager (CM) at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is responsible for developing and implementing change management strategies for small to medium-scale changes, and assisting with larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Change Manager. This role is crucial in ensuring the adoption of new behaviors and minimizing disruptions caused by changes. The CM will collaborate with various functions and business leaders to facilitate effective sponsorship, engagement, communication, training, and adoption of changes within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement change management strategies and tactics for small to medium-scale changes.
  • Complete required change deliverables to ensure adoption of new behaviors.
  • Identify change risks and develop plans to mitigate those risks.
  • Analyze stakeholders and impacts involved in a change.
  • Develop change strategies and management plans, including sponsorship, engagement, communication, training, and measurement plans.
  • Determine and measure appropriate change metrics in collaboration with sponsors and project teams.
  • Develop communications and training materials as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on projects to ensure alignment and manage to a plan.
  • Influence without authority using relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Coach leaders and key stakeholders on effective change support.
  • Document and share best practices across the organization.
  • Design, manage, and implement multiple projects, coordinating the work of other professionals.
  • Meet strategic goals and objectives, acting independently within specific program or project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience leading all aspects of change management on small to medium projects.
  • Experience developing and executing change management plans for large-scale, complex projects.
  • Experience developing communications and training materials.
  • Experience cultivating and managing stakeholder relationships at all levels of an organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Reputable Change Management certification or designation.
  • Excellent presentation, mediation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with change management best practices in a decentralized organization.
  • Master's degree or extensive professional experience.
  • Expertise in metrics and data analysis.
  • Experience using varied communications tools and channels.
  • Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
  • Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
  • Management experience with the ability to lead, motivate, and manage performance.
