About the position

As a Change Manager at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in supporting our intelligence customer by managing engineering activities and ensuring effective change management processes. This position involves working closely with the User Facing and Data Center Services (UDS) Engineering Change Management team, participating in validation and approval meetings, and acting as a technical advisor for telecommunications-related outages. Your contributions will help ensure the safety and efficiency of operations within the Intelligence Community.

Responsibilities

  • Research, compose, coordinate, and present the Program's engineering activities through internal Boards and the customer's Outage Control Board (OCB) for validation and approval.
  • Participate in OCB validation and various approval meetings as a technical advisor and subject matter expert for telecommunications and WAN/LAN related Authorized Outages (AOs).
  • Assist in planning and developing methods, procedures, and policies concerning telecommunications systems and implementing telecommunication projects.
  • Participate in program management reviews, technical oversight meetings, and workshops to stay updated on program controls and new systems being acquired.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Intelligence Community (IC)-ITE initiative and participate in the IC Desktop Environment (DTE) IT change management process.
  • Manage 10-30 engineering activities/requirements a week, including new activities and status updates.
  • Prepare briefings and attend OCB meetings and senior-level briefings discussing outage impacts.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of IT requirements management, configuration management, change management, or Systems Engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or work/military experience.
  • Ability to interface with customers consistently and exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with existing customer's IT systems and segments, understanding the 'why' behind customer needs.
  • Highly organized with strategic thinking about operational needs and opportunities.
  • Ability to inspire and work collaboratively with diverse cultures in a global environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic understanding of various virtualization technology principles and cloud computing.
  • ITIL Foundations or understanding of ITIL and customer architecture and infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience with Customer or Mission Partner Systems.
  • Understanding of the client's Governance and Process Controls procedures.
  • Experience with Enterprise Management Tools (BMC Remedy ITSM, ServiceNow).
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and IC Connect (Adobe) meeting facilitation tools.
