About the position

The Change Program Manager at Fincantieri Marinette Marine is responsible for overseeing the management of changes and modifications within the organization, ensuring that all customer change requests and internal modifications are properly approved and funded. This role involves providing leadership in various areas such as planning, procurement, and engineering, while also serving as the Program Manager for special projects. The position requires strong reporting and presentation skills, as it serves as the focal point for all change reporting and involves frequent interaction with senior staff, customers, and regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all change/modifications throughout the organization with emphasis on approval and cost.
  • Assess the financial impact of project status to budget.
  • Negotiate customer changes and assist the Procurement Department in claims recovery.
  • Prepare estimates to completion (EAC), projections on funding, and other planned reports.
  • Act as the single point of contact for the Customer regarding Change Proposals.
  • Prepare reports, charts, and graphs on program, project, or contract status and present to management.
  • Assist functional management in special assignments and projects to support strategic planning efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and ten (10+) years of relevant experience in the shipbuilding or equivalent manufacturing industry, or a Master's degree with six (6+) years of experience, or an Associate's degree with twelve (12+) years of experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with fifteen (15+) years of experience.
  • Three (3+) years of experience in successful project leadership with strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Broad working knowledge of marine systems including structural, outfitting, machinery, hydraulics, electrical, mechanical, electronics, HVAC.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with DAR and FAR contracts.
  • Working knowledge of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Technical cognizance in one or more shipbuilding disciplines.
